The New Façade of Heineken Hoek Is Taking Shape!

The new façade of Heineken Hoek is now visible! However, the façade is not yet complete, and work is still well underway. The new Heineken Hoek will feature a spectacular double-skin façade.
The inner façade is clad with white aluminium panels arranged in a triangular pattern with varying depths, creating a subtle three-dimensional relief. The outer façade consists of glass triangles installed at different angles, giving the building its distinctive architectural appearance.
The white inner façade has already been completed. Work is currently underway to tension the 12 mm steel cables from which the glass façade will be suspended. The first glass panels will be installed in December. By the end of the first quarter of 2024, both the glass façade and the glass canopy are expected to be completed.
The glass façade was designed by MVSA Architects in collaboration with Octatube. Octatube specializes in the design, engineering, and construction of innovative architectural structures, with a particular focus on glass façades.
Inside the building, the shell-and-core construction is almost complete. The hotel and hospitality operators will soon begin fitting out their respective spaces.
The new building on Amsterdam's Leidseplein will be home to The Diamond hotel, occupying the second through fifth floors. The hospitality spaces, located in the basement, ground floor, and first floor, will feature a grand café, an exclusive cocktail bar, a table d'hôte restaurant, and a steakhouse. The hotel and hospitality venues are expected to welcome their first guests in mid-March 2024.
