The Diamond: Opening Soon!
Despite some delays, the new Heineken Hoek is steadily taking shape. The precast concrete walls on the first floor have now been installed, and the second-floor slab has been poured. Over the coming months, work will continue floor by floor, with all concrete floors expected to be completed by June/July 2023, marking the completion of the building's concrete structural shell. Of course, pouring the concrete floors is just one part of the ongoing work. Inside the building, ducts and pipework for the sanitary systems are being installed, while significant progress is also being made on the electrical installations integrated into the floors and walls.
The facade
The first section of the scaffolding has recently been erected. Over the coming weeks, it will be extended upwards as construction progresses floor by floor. Behind the scaffolding, work is well underway on the new face of Heineken Hoek. Construction of the concrete façade is progressing steadily, with insulation being installed and the window frames being fitted. Octatube, a specialist in complex façade systems, has begun constructing the support structure from which the new glass façade will be suspended.
Opening soon
The new building will be home to a four-star hotel and a range of hospitality venues. Immediately after the summer, work will begin on the interior fit-out of both the hotel and the hospitality spaces. The hospitality venues will occupy the basement, ground floor, and first floor, while the upper floors will accommodate a high-quality four-star hotel. Thanks to its combination of uses and distinctive architecture, Heineken Hoek will make a valuable contribution to the vibrancy and quality of the surrounding area. Heineken Hoek is expected to open its doors in the autumn of 2023.
